How to Get a Better Night’s Sleep

Are you having trouble sleeping? Here are some easy tips to get a good night’s sleep.

Lavender essential oil is known to relax and calm the central nervous system.

Relaxation and getting to sleep is  no easy task for many this day and age.

Getting to sleep is no easy task for many people. Distractions, such as living on a main road, or nocturnal pets are all it takes for someone that finds getting to sleep a struggle, a near impossibility. Essential oils have been praised for generations for their sleep inducing abilities. Essential oils can be used to help induce sleep in a number of ways. This can be by preparing a bath, or even using oils as a topical treatment, ie. used directly on the skin.

The first thing you must bear in mind about essential oils is that a little goes a long way. Even a couple of drops can be used to richly fragrance a large living room. Only ever use a maximum of 4 drops each time, as too strong a scent can do the exact opposite of the purpose you are attempting to achieve.

I mean it when i say to apply a couple of drops of lavender on the bottom of your big toe.
Your big toe is a target point for your brain and putting a couple of drops of lavender there will assist you to relax and have a deeper sleep. ~~~ don’t believe me? Try it!

Other tips

  1. Set regular sleep hours. Unless you have to work the ‘graveyard shift’, try setting regular hours for bedtime.
  2. Avoid caffeine in the afternoon. And for some people even a small amount of caffeine can be enough to disrupt sleep time
  3. Get regular exercise. I find a daily routine which includes adequate exercise is one way to help off to sleep.
  4. Meditate
  5. Use essential oils – Especially Lavender
